Chris and Carl with Organic Gut Solution in Orlando Conference

Some companies begin with a business plan. AgSolv began with a question: Why were so many animals struggling with digestive issues, despite receiving what should have been quality care?

For co-founders Carl and Christine DiPiazza, that question launched years of research, testing, and refinement that would eventually become AgSolv — a company dedicated to improving the health of soil, animals, and ultimately the food we all depend on.

Today, AgSolv is the parent company behind Organic Gut Solution (OGS), Heritage Harvest Organic Feed, and SoilYield. Although each brand serves a different purpose, they all share one mission: restoring health naturally through organic carbon, scientific research, and uncompromising quality.

A Lifetime of Experience

Neither founder grew up in the industries that would define their careers.

Despite having no family background in the equestrian world, Christine's passion for horses began as a child. Determined to pursue her dream, she immersed herself in research, learning everything she could about horse management, nutrition, training, and competition. "I've been involved with horses for over 35 years," she explains. "Research was the only way I was going to get anywhere."

As an eventer, Christine spent decades caring for and competing with horses. Throughout those years, one frustrating pattern kept emerging: digestive problems seemed remarkably common, even among well-managed performance horses.

At the same time, Carl was building a lifetime career in agriculture. His interest began while working on a farm at just 12 years old and eventually grew into decades of experience with plant science, soil health, crop production, and agricultural systems. "I've always been curious," Carl says. "I've done a lot of things in my career with plant varieties, produce, and just about every aspect of agriculture."

Together, their backgrounds would prove to be the perfect combination – Christine bringing firsthand experience in animal care and performance, and Carl contributing decades of agricultural and soil science expertise.

When Research Became Reality

OGS didn't begin with horses — it began with a dog. The couple's young dog suffered from severe digestive problems, vomiting multiple times every day despite every attempt to help. Carl believed a carefully formulated organic carbon supplement could make a difference, and within days, it did. The vomiting stopped almost immediately. When they removed the supplement, the symptoms returned. When they added it back, the symptoms disappeared again. They knew they had found something worth pursuing.

From there, Christine carefully introduced the formula to horses under controlled conditions. Because she managed two barns with identical care, hay, bedding, and management practices, she had an ideal real-world testing environment. Immediately, one competition horse seemingly unable to reach his full potential began flourishing. Another older horse faced an even more dramatic challenge – severe skin infections, constant itching, rain rot, and environmental sensitivities that proved to be life-threatening. Systematic antibiotics provided temporary relief, but his symptoms would return as soon as he went back to pasture. Within weeks of beginning the formula, his condition began to improve. Over time, the horse returned to living outside, regained his quality of life, and ultimately lived to be 30 years old.

"For us," Christine says, "that was life-changing. We weren't just managing symptoms anymore."

As the founders continued testing, they refined ingredient combinations, adjusted dosages, and learned how consistent supplementation could improve long-term health rather than simply provide short-term relief.

Years of Research Before a Single Sale

Although AgSolv officially incorporated in 2019, the company was years in the making. Before ever selling a product, Carl and Christine spent six to seven years conducting dosage trials, comparing formulations, and documenting results across multiple animal species. By the time AgSolv entered the market, the founders felt confident they had created something both safe and effective.

The company launched in the simplest way possible. Products were mixed by hand, packaged in their garage, labeled with self-designed casings, and offered free to volunteers willing to participate in product testing. Some of those very first customers remain part of the AgSolv family today.

"One of our earliest testers has now worked with us for over five years," Christine says. "That's incredibly meaningful because she believed in what we were doing after seeing the impact it had on her animals."

More Than One Product — One Mission

For AgSolv, every product is connected by a larger purpose: improving animal health means improving human health. When livestock have healthier digestive systems, they are better able to utilize nutrients, support their immune systems, and thrive naturally. The result is higher-quality meat, milk, and eggs for the families who consume them. Likewise, healthier soil produces stronger, more nutrient-dense crops while reducing dependence on synthetic fertilizers and chemical inputs. By restoring biology at every level — from the soil beneath our feet to the animals that feed us — AgSolv is working to strengthen the entire food chain. Their philosophy is simple: Healthy soil grows healthy plants. Healthy plants nourish healthy animals. Healthy animals produce healthier food for healthier people. The result of this philosophy is a portfolio of products that work together to support a healthier agricultural system. Whether improving digestion, providing complete organic nutrition, or rebuilding soil biology, each brand plays a distinct role in AgSolv's larger mission.

  • Organic Gut Solution (OGS) remains the company's flagship supplement, offering species-specific formulas for horses, dogs, poultry, cattle, rabbits, cats, humans, and others. Each formula is designed to support digestive health, nutrient absorption, and overall wellness through organic carbon technology.

  • Heritage Harvest Organic Feed combines certified organic ancient grains with built-in OGS, creating complete feeds that nourish animals while simultaneously supporting gut health. Rather than simply meeting nutritional requirements, Heritage Harvest is designed to improve how animals utilize those nutrients.

  • Beyond animal nutrition, AgSolv also developed SoilYield, a 100% organic carbon fertilizer that rebuilds soil biology and restores long-term fertility. By increasing soil organic matter and improving cation exchange capacity (CEC), SoilYield helps retain nutrients, reduce fertilizer requirements, improve water retention, increase root development, and eliminate reliance on chemical inputs.

  • Aextend is a 100% organic biocarbon bedding additive that creates cleaner, healthier environments for horses, cattle, poultry, and other livestock. Its highly absorbent organic carbon structure helps reduce moisture, ammonia, odors, and fly pressure while supporting hoof and foot health. After use, Aextend continues delivering benefits by accelerating manure composting and returning valuable organic carbon to the soil, where it improves moisture retention and supports healthier, more productive forage.

The company also operates its own organic poultry farm. They plan to offer certified organic produce through its upcoming storefront in Ocala, Florida – another step toward building a healthier food system from the ground up.

What Truly Makes AgSolv Different?

In today's marketplace, many companies claim to be organic. AgSolv believes authenticity requires far more than a label. Unlike many manufacturers that purchase commodity ingredients from outside suppliers, AgSolv grows its own grains on farmland that has never been treated with synthetic chemicals. That means the company controls every step — from the soil itself to the finished product.

"We know the origin, the process, and the delivery of everything we produce," Carl explains. "There aren't many companies left that can honestly say that."

The company also remains completely independent. It is entirely founder-owned, without outside investors, partners, or third-party manufacturers. Every batch is mixed, packaged, and shipped by the AgSolv team because maintaining quality is simply too important to outsource.

For Carl and Christine, AgSolv has never simply been about creating another feed company. It's about restoring soil, improving animal health, producing cleaner, more nutritious food, and helping families care for the animals they depend on and love. Every product reflects decades of research, hands-on experience, and a belief that true health begins at the source. By caring for the soil, supporting the microbiome, and improving the wellbeing of animals, AgSolv is helping build a healthier future — for farms, for families, and for generations to come.
